Following a string of car burglaries across Escambia County, Commander Quinata and Amber Southard join the Pensacola Expert Panel to share tips and best practices to help you avoid becoming a victim. Follow Amber’s routine: Before you exit your vehicle, have your keys in your hand (not pocket or purse), click the lock button on your car door, then, just before you go inside, turn and use your key fob to lock your vehicle again and hear the confirmation honk. Also remember to remove firearms from your vehicle as well as purses, holiday gifts, and any other valuable items that may entice car hoppers to try to break in.
